BJP leaders protest on Outer Ring Road project

Police arrests leaders and party activists

Hyderabad, August 25, 2006

Activists and Leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) were arrested when they sat outside near the Assembly staging a dharna on the Outer Ring Road (ORR) Project. BJP Secretary K Lakshman, Vice President Baddam Balreddy, Deputy Mayor Subash Chaderji and others were present at the dharna.

Meanwhile, the police arrested the leader and party supporters almost immediate after they began the project since it violates the prohibitory orders. Media reports say that more than 1200 activists were taken into preventive custody.
