Hyderabad, August 21, 2006

The Chief Minister, Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy on Monday inaugurated a three storied building to house the office of the Transport Commissioner on the premises of Road Transport Authority (RTA). The new building has come up at a cost of Rs.4.5 crores.

The Central server of the Transport Department handling computerized data pertaining to 67 lakh vehicles and 80 lakh drivers is installed in this building. The server, with enhanced configuration would help the department to monitor the data on the round the clock as it has been freed from the net work of servers of other departments.

The server had also been configured to ensure connectivity with all department offices across the State offering anytime, anywhere services. The cost of the computerization was Rs.2.5 crores while the civil works of the building costs Rs.2 crores.
