CM visits family members of policemen shot dead

As expected an attack from Maoists after the alleged encounter of Madhav, the police did not suspect that they will target an armed less police station. The Chief Minister, Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy rushed to Atmakur (M) by helicopter on Friday to visit the family members of the policemen shot dead by Maoists. Speaking to media after calling on the family members of Sub Inspector Chand Pasha, Assistant Sub Inspector Moinuddin and the home guard Lingaiah at the District headquarters hospital on Saturday, he commented that the act of Maoists is an act of cowardice. Another injured constable Karim has been struggling for life with three bullet injuries in Hyderabad.
Top police officers briefed the Chief Minister how the Maoists team made a sudden attack on the unarmed police station killing three policemen. Explosive material stuffed in a steel box was recovered in the police station which was partially damaged due to the impact of the explosion. The Maoists shot the policemen at close range.
Meanwhile, the family members of the slain Sub Inspector alleged that the superiors have not granted leave to him as he was not well and he returned from London a couple of days back. The Home guard who joined the department only a couple of months has yet to receive his first salary. The Home Minister, K.Jana Reddy and Director General of Police (DIG) Swaranjit Sen visited the police station. The Chief Minister announced annex gratia of Rs.9 lakhs each for the Sub Inspector and Assistant Sub Inspector families and Rs.5 lakhs to the home guard's family and also employment and housing facilities would be given.
