Maoists strikes Atmakur(M) Police Station

Kills SI, ASI and a Home Guard

Nalgonda, August 18, 2006

In what is considered to be a major strike by the Maoists after the recent encounter of its state secretary have killed the Sub Inspector Chandpasha, Assistant SI (ASI) Sulthan Moiduddin and a Home Guard Lingayya after they stiked the Atmakur(M) Police Station in Nalgonda. It is believed that the Maoists had a perfect plan of the operations. This is evident from the fact that power supply to the region was cut off just before the operations. Maoists about 10 to 12 in number have participated in the operation that happened between 9:00 and 9:30 PM.

A heavily injured constable however managed to escape from the hands of the Moaists. It took a lot of time for police to reach the spot and send the constable to Hyderabad for medical treatment. Four more constables belonging to the police station are missing. It is unknown if the constables tried to escape or were taken by the Maoists.
