Would meet the Prime Minister and Sonia Gandhi
Warangal, August 18, 2006The founder of Lok Satta Jayaprakash Narayanan addressing a press conference on Thursday said that he would give up his posts in National Advisory Council and Second Administrative Reforms Commission before launching his new political party in the first week of October. He said that he would meet the UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and the Prime Minister Man Mohan Singh before relinquishing his posts.
He reiterated that the Lok Satta is not in favour of an alternative political party but for a new political atmosphere in the country and his party would strive for fee education and health care for the poor people. He said that the present political parties were not able to fulfil the promises in this regard. Favoring sweeping reforms in judiciary and police set up, he said the people in rural areas need to be appraised about the value of their vote and how they can manage themselves instead of depending on political parties.
