Hyderabad, August 16, 2006

The Andhra Pradesh Vyasaya Karmika Sangham that deputed study teams on August 13,14 and 15 to flood affected areas of Khammam, East and West Godavari and Adilabad has concluded that the victims of the flood affected areas have not received any aid and relief from the State Government. According to the general secretary B.Venkat said that the affected people had suffered losses into crores of rupees on account of Government's failure to provide assistance.

He said that this is very clear in Amalapuram, uppukuptam, Mimmadivaram, Allavaram, Yellamanchili, Achantla, Palakollu, Chintur, Poduru, Polakollu, Konavaram, Velerupadu, Jainadh and Bhela mandals in West Godavari and Adilabad districts.

The Sangham demanded payment of Rs.2500 to each farmer ass unemployment dole for loss of work during the month, taking up works in the affected areas under the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, supply of 50 kgs of rice to each family and sanction of houses under IAY and increase of compensation for loss of house to Rs.10,000 and to Rs.7,000 for partially damaged house.
