Raja Lakshmi award for SP Balasubramanayam

Holds Guinness record for the most number of songs

Hyderabad, August 14, 2006

The prestigious Raja-Lakshmi award for 2006 will be presented to the noted and popular singer SP Balasubramanayam on November 19 at Visakhapatnam. In a press release issued by the Sri Raja-Lakshmi Foundation managing trustee PV Ramanaiah Raja said that the award carries Rs.1 Lakh, a citation and a memento.

He will also receive Dr KV Rao and Dr.Jyothi Rao award of $2000 given in association with the Telugu Fine Arts Society, New Jersey. He made debut in Telugu film music as a singer in 1966with 'Sri Sri Sri Maryada Ramanna' and has rendered more than 36,000 songs in Telugu, Kannada, Tamil, Hindi and Malayalam languages.
