Says Rs. 28 crores more needed
Vijayanagaram, August 13, 2006District In-charge Minister Pinnamaneni Venkateswara Rao said that Vizianagaram needs Rs. 28 crores more funds to completely come out of the damage caused by the recent floods and torrential rains.
Speaking with the press at the R & B Building, he said that the district has incurred loss to a tune of crores of rupees and that Chief Minister Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy during his recent tour to the district has alloted Rs. 13 crores. Of this allotment, he said that various Government Departments would be taking Rs. 4.50 crores. He said that authorities are taking all steps to bring people our of the flood effect.
Housing facilities will be provided to people who lost their homes in floods, he said. Initial estimates says that over 9526 houses were partially damaged during the recent.
