50 per cent in flood hit areas
Hyderabad, August 10, 2006
The State Government has decided to supply seeds for paddy and other crops at 50 per cent subsidy in flood hit areas. The Agricultural Minister N Raghuveera Reddy who is on a visit to Australia reviewed the situation relating to crops damage in flood affected areas.
He asked the officials to see that the seeds were supplied on subsidy to areas where flood water was receding. He said rescuing farmers hit by floods was primary responsibility of the Government and that he had got the proposal on subsidy cleared by the Chief Minister Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy.
He directed the officials to ensure that farmers did not face any problem in getting subsidized seed. He also directed the officials to see that the farmers get crop loans in time.
