Chief Minister directs the officials to take immediate steps

Hyderabad, August 1, 2006

The Chief Minister, Dr.YS Rajasekhara Reddy while reviewing the progress of housing schemes at a meeting directed the officials to take immediate steps for building of 80,000 houses in Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada for the families of Below Poverty Line (BPL).

Each unit would cost Rs.80,000 to Rs.1 lakh while 15,000 units each would be constructed in Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam and the remaining would be built in Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy districts and the CM asked the officials to complete all the units before December 2006 and March 2007

The Chief Minister said that all slum dwellers would be provided with houses in the next seven yeas and the beneficiaries should also be motivated to pay their contribution amount promptly and assist the State Government in making the scheme a grand success.
