84 prisoners appears for entrance examination of BRAOU

Hyderabad, April 9, 2006

84 prisoners including three life convicts took entrance examination for the Dr.BR Ambedkar Open University (BRAOU) at the Cherlapally Central Prison on Sunday. Cherlapally jail deputy superintendent Mohammed Thajuddin said 94 prisoners were on rolls for UG and PG programmes.

Six of them have completed the PG Course and were granted degrees in January 2006. The BRAOU rector Prof.P.Ramaiah said that they took education at the doorsteps of prison.
