Hyderabad to host Fourth World Military Games

Hyderabad, April 7, 2006

A high-level delegation of International Military Sports Council (CISM) led by its Secretary General Col.Marinus Antonius Van Meurs on Friday visited the sports infrastructure in and around Gahibowili. The delegation visited in connection with the Fourth World Military Games to be held in the city in 2007.

Secretary to Government (Sports) Chitra Ramachandran, Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh (SAAP) Chairman G.K.Vardhana Rao and others accompanied the delegation and explained about the various sporting facilities available in the region. The visiting officials seemed impressed by the world-class infrastructure in the city according to a press release from SAAP. Nearly 5000 sports persons from the armed forces of 128 countries will take part in the event that is held annually under the aegis of Council for International Military Games and all the countries taking part in the IV Military World Games are its members.
