Case registered against SI

Hyderabad, April 6, 2006

Moghalpura police booked a case against a Sub Inspector for allegedly attacked a fruit vendor at Charminar cross roads on Wednesday. Police sources said that the Moghalpura police Sub Inspector Niyaz Ahmed had allegedly beaten up one Mohammed Saleem when he refused to move his pushcart that was obstructing traffic.

The Sub Inspector hit him with his lathi causing bleeding injuries. Following this incident, fruit vendors along with Charminar Legislator Pasha Quadri staged a dharna in front of the police station demanding action against the erring Sub Inspector. Moghalpura police registered a case against the Sub Inspector.
