Students locks college gates
Hyderabad, April 6, 2006
Nearly 30 MBBS students and a few house surgeons were arrested from Osmania Medial College on Thursday after the students locked the gates of the college and refused to allow anyone inside. The students and house surgeons refused to allow the entry of staff and administrative authorities into the premises until justice was done. They picketed at the venue and burnt the effigies of the Vice Chancellor and Registrar.
East Zone police picked up the students to allow smooth functioning of the college administration. The medico from Kakatiya Medical College, Siddhardha Medical College and AU Medial College also participating in the strike. The students were later released when the members of the AP Medial Students Association interfered. Their main demands include fair counseling, revealing the questions for which extra marks were awarded and sacking of Vice Chancellor and Registrar of NTR University of Health sciences.
