Guntur, April 4, 2006The Guntur police have enhanced security level at the Nagarjuna Sagar Dam following reports of Karnataka police apprehending a person planning to blow up the dam with explosive.
Superintendent of Police B.Sivadhar Reddy said that the patrolling on both sides of the dam on Guntur and Nalgonda side was stepped up, as this aspect was never taken so seriously so far. In view of threat perception, the department would take all measures to scuttle any such attempt and keenly observe the movements in the vicinity.
