HyderabadBody to reach Hyderabad on Monday
The Indian engineer who was abducted by the Talibans on Friday, was killed and his beheaded body was dumped near a highway in Southern Afghanistan. The Police patrol party found him on Sunday morning in the Hassan Karez area in Southern Zabul province. The Taliban claimed that the killing was accidental, that the Indian Engineer had been shot dead while he was trying to escape but the Afghan interior ministry rubbished this saying that the body had been found beheaded which proved that the killing was deliberate. TV news channels flashed the news of killing in the morning.
The first official confirmation came when the Chief Minister, YS Rajasekhara Reddy visited their house at around 1pm along with Minister for Information Shabbir Ali. The Chief Minister announced an ex-gratia payment of Rs.5 lakh for the family and a job to the members of the family. He said that the Centre will announce a package to rehabilitate the family. Hyderabad’s Regional Passport Officer Bala Bhaskar also visited the house as the representative of Ministry of External Affairs to inform about the tragic death of K.Suryanarayana.
Almoayed company for which Mr. Suryanaryana was working for, has announced an ex-gratia of Rs. 20 lakhs and would take care of the education of Suryanarayana’s children. In a statement by the Almoayed Company, all its international offices will remain closed on Tuesday while its India office will be closed for three days from Sunday as a mark of respect to the engineer. Arrangements are on the way to bring the body by a special flight on Monday.
