Robbers take away Rs.60 lakhs worth jewellery
Hyderabad, April 3, 2006Robbers gained entry in to a shop located in the busy commercial centre in Abids and robbed jewellery worth Rs.60 lakhs. They gained entry after cutting open the shop's rear side shutter using metal sheet cutters. The burglary committed with a clockwork precision at the city's main commercial centre in front of Abids police station came to light when the owners of Tata Pearls Jeweller opened the shop on Monday.
The offenders cut iron grill of the rear shutters with a hacksaw blade. Lifting the shutter could have set off the security alarm so that they made vast rectangular hold one shutter using metal sheet cutters. They managed to open another metal door by cutting off the steel latch said the Central Zone DCP Srinivasulu. They switched off the secret camera in the shop. The opened one locker and emptied three racks but could not open two lockers.
