19,000 delegates to attend party meeting

Rajahmundry, East Godavari, April 29, 2006

The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) is gearing up for its Mahanadu program for the year. Rajahmundry is chosen as the venue for this year program aptly giving a signal that the party is serious about its fate in the region, probably because of the upcoming Panchayat Elections.

State Organizing Secretary and Senior Leader Gorantla Butchaiah Choudary at a press conference said that the party president Nara Chandrababu Naidu has taken a decision to conduct the three-day mega program of the part at Rajahmundry on 27 to 29 May, 2006.

The Mahanadu program is the stage for the party to review its past performance and chalk out its future strategy. Problems of the people will be highlighted and the stance of the party to address them will be discussed. Mahanadu for 2005 was held at Hyderabad.

District Party President Jyothula Nehru said that the TDP core committee meeting was held and that over 19000 delegates are expected to be attending the program. Over 1000 volunteers will be working on the arrangements for the program. He said that the city unit was happy to get the chance to host the event. The Government College Grounds would soon get the shine as it gets ready for the events. Rajahmundry was the venue for the Mini Mahanadu in 1994.
