Says land allotment decision is by state cabinet

Justice R Swaroop Reddy of the Andhra Pradesh High Court on Wednesday dismissed the petition seeking a corruption inquiry against the former Chief Minister, N Chandrababu Naidu for allotting land to the sports academy IMG Bharata for nominal price.

Justice Reddy said that the decision taken to allot the land was by the State Cabinet. The Government could cancel the allotment it if finds that it will not serve any good for the public. The Judge observed that the successive Governments are allotting lands to several organizations at concessional rates even without fixing any obligation on their part towards the State. But in the present case, the Judge felt that there are at least certain responsibilities fixed.
