Production capacity to increase to five lakh tones

The Visakha Industries Limited will be amalgamating Shakthi Roofings, a Pune-based AC sheet manufacturer with itself that will increase its annual production capacity to five lakh tones, even as the Hyderabad-based company has begun work to build new plants at Vijayawada and Ahmedabad.
Visakha Industries MD G Vivekanand told reporters on Tuesday that the acquisition would be through a stock swap. Visakha crossed the Rs. 300 crore milestone in terms of revenues in 2005-06 with the company posting revenues of Rs. 311.20 crores an increase of 38.72 per cent over the Rs. 224.34 crores in 2004-05. It recorded a 34.15 per cent jump in net profit to Rs. 19.25 crores from the 14.35 crores on year. The board has recommended a dividend of Rs. 3 per share.
