Rs. 13,000 compensation to raped girl

The village elders of Somayajulapalle village in Bandi Atmakur mandal awarded a cash compensation of Rs. 13,000 to a raped girl.
According to available sources, an 18-year-old youth had raped a 12-year-old minor girl at Somayajulapalle on Sunday. Instead of handing over the case to the police, the village elders met at the residence of the poor Dalit family and awarded a compensation, which the girl's parents accepted it. The Nandyal DSP Sriramulu said that they have not received any complaint but assured to look into the matter.
