Hyderabad, April 24, 2006The Minister for Higher Education Pinnamaneni Venkateswara Rao who released the intermediate results on Monday said that out of 5,58,046 candidates appeared the examinations, 3,19,222 were got through in the final intermediate examinations. He said 1,24,522 candidates secured A grade, 1,14,433 secured B Grade and 60,842 in C grade and the rest in D grade. As the Board of Intermediate has not announced the marks, Corporate colleges cannot claim that their student is a topper. If they make such claims but later proved to be wrong, stringent action would be taken, said the Secretary, Board of Intermediate Education (BIE) RP Sisodia.
The Government amended the AP Public Exam (Prevention of malpractices and unfair means) Act 1997 prohibiting colleges from making false claims about the ranks. The violation of the Act can draw penalty between Rs.5,000 and Rs.1 lakh and imprisonment between three to five years. He said the advance supplementary examinations will be held between May 24 and June 1 and the last date for payment of the fee is May 3.
