The Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh (SAAP) has hiked the salaries of its 60-odd contract coaches by Rs. 2,000. SAAP Board took the decision on Saturday and will come into immediate effect.
The contract coaches hired in 1993 will now get Rs. 10,000 and those appointed in 1999 will get Rs. 7000. The Board also decided to create two posts of Assistant Directors in addition to the existing one. To increase the income levels, the board has decided to increase the rent value of 40 odd business establishments in the Lal Bahadur stadium premises to Rs. 25 per sq.ft. from the existing Rs. 3. SAAP is planning to organize a 'stars' cricket match involving Bollywood and film industry from the south to raise its revenue.
