More seats to service candidates

Hyderabad, April 21, 2006

A division bench of the Andhra Pradesh High Court upheld the controversial GO 19 protesting which the junior doctors had gone on strike.

The Bench on Friday dismissed the writ petition challenging the validity of GO 19 that gives more seats to in service candidates. It may be recalled that one Dr. Bharat Kumar and others filed a writ petition challenging the action of NTR Health University and the State Government in allotting a major chunk of the seats for in service candidates and reducing the cut off marks unilaterally. While disposing off the petitions, the bench said that a detailed order would follow.
