Special Teams sent for investigation
Hyderabad, April 19, 2006
The police have rushed special teams to investigate into the brutal murder of former Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MLA K Suryapratap Reddy, popularly known as Sooredu. The teams found that one, Parthasarath Reddy, an associate of Congress leader B Narayana Reddy was injured in the firing by gunman. Police identified nine others including Narayana Reddy's son B Pratap Reddy and Kallur Pratap Reddy as suspects in Tuesday's murder at the Tadipatri railway station. According to police sources, the factionists are operating from Hyderabad and it is considered a very serious issue.
The Home Minister, K Jana Reddy said that the killers would be nabbed by Thursday and that the police have solid clues about the killers. The Director General of Police (DGP) Swaranjit Sen said that when the gunman opened fire at those attacking the former MLA, one of the killers sustained bullet injuries and that he might be admitted into any of the hospitals. The police are trying to trace him basing on this evidence. Meanwhile, the DIG Anantapur Range N Jayarami Reddy said that Tadipatri Urban Circle Inspector O Chandrasekhara Reddy and Tadipatri Rural Inspector Vijay Kumar were kept in vacancy reserve. The bandh call given by TDP was total and no untoward incidents have been reported.
