Development charges to discourage people keeping their lands undeveloped
Hyderabad, April 18, 2006
The State Government will levy deferred development charges to prevent landowners from keeping plots vacant in the special zone along the Outer Ring Road. The special zone also known as ORR growth corridor will be developed in 80000 acres on either side of the ORR. It will comprise lands which fall within one-kilometer radius.
ORR Project Director Piyush Kumar said on Tuesday that the development charge was meant to discourage people from keeping their lands undeveloped anticipating further increase in prices. Notification on the growth will be issued after completion of formalities.
