Gunman says no on followed MLA in train

Anantapur, April 18, 2006

Former TDP MLA Sooredu was hacked to death at the Tadipatri railway station in the faction ridden Rayalaseema on Tuesday morning. The attackers threw chilly powder in the eyes of Sooredu and his gunman and attacked him with hunting sickles. 23 wounds were inflicted on the MLA's body and it is suspected a ten-member gang have involved in the murder.

The gunman said that he was unable to see anything after the chilly powder was flung in his eyes. Police sources said that the plot to kill him was hatched in Hyderabad and followed him all the way from Hyderabad. However, the gunman maintained that he did not see anyone following the former MLA from Hyderabad.
