MoU signed for joint operations

Hyderabad, April 15, 2006

The Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) and Oil and Natural Gas Commission (ONGC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly undertake service, operation and process development and research related to underground coal gasification, Surface Coal Gasification (SCG) and Coal Bed Methane (CBM) in coal bearing areas of SCCL.

The Chief Minister Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy said that the research relates to extraction of coal and gas from depths below 200 metres to 600 metres, which was a difficult process. The Chairman and MDs of ONGC and SSCL signed the MoU in the presence of the Chief Minister on Saturday.
