Begins attending emergency services

Hyderabad, April 15, 2006

With the Andhra Pradesh High Court giving its clear order, the striking junior doctors decided to call of their strike and joined duties. Some of the doctors began attending to attending emergency services from Saturday evening itself. The AP Junior Doctors Association (APJDA) President Ch. Pradeed and Joint Action Committee leader K Rajasekhar announced that they were calling off the strike with the hope that the High Court would look into their grievances. It may be recalled the doctors were on strike following a recent Government Order.

Meanwhile, the talks that took place between the junior doctors and Minister for Medical and Health, K Rosaiah ended inconclusively as reports came in late Saturday. The Minister asked the junior doctors to call off the strike fully and attend general wards as well. Earlier in the morning, the junior doctors submitted a memorandum to the Governor at Raj Bhavan.
