Hyderabad, April 15, 2006The Joint Action Committee (JAC) of Employees, Teachers and Workers on Saturday threatened to launch a direct action from May 15 if the State Government failed to fulfill their demands. A delegation of the JAC leaders led by its chairman BV Subbarao met the Chief Secretary TK Dewan and submitted a charter of demands which includes remittance of Pay Revision Commission arrears to the General Provident Fund, implementation of Srirangahari Commission report and release of two installment of Dearness Allowance (DA).
Agitation programmes were chalked out and if the Government fails to heed their demands before the dead line, they will go ahead with direction. District-level demonstrations are scheduled opposite District Collector offices on April 21, 2006. A rally and a public meeting in Hyderabad would be held on May 11, 2006.
