Telangana statehood through consensus

LK Advani resumes Bharat Suraksha Yatra at Guntakal

Anantapur, April 15, 2006

Senior leader of the Bharateeya Janatha Party Lal Krishna Advani made it clear that a separate Telangana State is possible only through consensus. Speaking to reporters, he said that the backwardness and regional imbalances in the State were results of the bad governance. He demanded a probe into the farmers suicides in the State by a Joint Parliamentary Committee. He said that more than 4000 farmers have committee suicides during the last couple of years.

Senior leaders of BJP received LK Advani who arrived by a private helicopter in the morning. Thousands of party supporters and people in large numbers participated in the yatra. The Yatra went through Guntakal, Gooty, Pamidi, Anantapur, Bathapalli, Dharmavaram and Pendukonda.
