Makes away with Rs. 6.5 lakh jewelery
Hyderabad, April 12, 2006Burglar gangs are on looting spree in the city. They burgled four houses in a single day - two each at Begumpet, one at Santoshnagar and another at Malkajgiri and made away with a total of Rs. 6.5 lakhs worth of gold ornaments on Wednesday. At Tatachari Colony in Begumpet, two burglars equipped with chilly powder gained entry into two houses by removing the window grills. Vijay Kumar whose house was burgled lodged a complaint with the police stating that burglars made away with 40 tolas of gold and Rs.1.25 lakhs in cash from his house.
The burglars also broke into K. Rahul's house in Begumpet and made away with five tolas of gold and Rs.6,000 in cash. In another incident at West Anand Bagh, burglars broke into the house of one Girija and fled with Rs.70,000 . The burglars in the fourth incident, broke into the house of Prem Chand Patnaik and stole 4.8 tolas of gold and Rs.9,000 cash in Santoshnagar. The police are investigating the cases.
