Bear kills two in Nallamala forests

Two forest assistants missing

Nandyal - Kurnool, April 11, 2006

Two persons including a Deputy Forest Range Officer (DRO) were killed in a bear attack in Nallamala forest under the Nandyal forest range on Tuesday. According to sources, a wild bear attacked a cattle grazer and on receipt of information, Mahandani DRO Ramachandra Reddy rushed to the spot with two assistants.

The bear ambushed him and killed him. The whereabouts of the two assistants are yet to be known.
