Looks for joint ventures with India - Impressed with Indian technology
Hyderabad, April 11, 2006
A delegation of Ministers and Businessmen from the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan headed by its President Hamid Karzai began Hyderabad on a two-day visit. They arrived in a flight from New Dehli. The delegation includes Afghanistan Foreign Affairs Minister Abdullah Abdullah, Defence Minister Abdul Rahim Wardak, Higher Education Minister Amirah Hassanyar and National Security Advisor Zamil Rasoul.The team visited Cyber Towers in Hyderabad where a presentation on various Information Technology (IT) projects was given by Sreedhanaran of L & T, the co-promoter of the Cyber Towers project. They also visited the Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) where they are briefed about the opportunities in the IT sector.
A presentation by the Director of the National Remote Sensing Agency (NRSA) K Radhakrishnan at the NRSA, Balanagar delighted the guests. Mr. Karzai had a glimpse of how technology could benefit human lives. Speaking on the usage of technology in India, Mr. Karzai said, "India has the foundation in the high quality and high technology education it has".
