M.Satyanarayana Rao took charge of his new portfolio, Sports and Culture at the same Secretariat chambers on Saturday. The Minister said that he was happy that the Chief Minister had retained him in the Cabinet despite the fact that he had insisted on acceptance of his resignation. He did not want to continue as Minister and much less as one heading Endowments when allegations were made against him regarding temple lands scam.

Naxals kills three in Karimnagar

Naxals belonging to CPI (Maoist) killed an MPTC member of the TRS in Yellareddypet mandal in the early hours of Saturday. Some six-armed naxals reported led by Sircilla dalam commander. Swamy went to the house of T.Nagabushanam and called him out and axed him to death in front of his family. It may be recalled that the Maoists has given a dead line for the TRS to leave their posts. In Cuddapah, the Congress unit president was shot dead by naxals on Friday night and in Guntur, they killed a farmer branding him as a police informer on the same day night.
