The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials apprehended K.Subrahmanyam, Municipal Commissioner of Kakinada Corporation in a dramatic way on Friday. He was taken into custody for allegedly in possession of Rs.1.28 lakh currency in a suitcase. The ACB officials also raided a private bus near Ravulapalem inn which Jyothi Subba Rao, Kakinada Corporation’s City Planning Officer was caught with Rs.35,000 cash. The two raids were conducted simultaneously.

Teachers' transfer kept on hold

The Government on Friday gave an undertaking before the Division Bench of the High Court comprising Justice J.Chelameshwar and Justice M.Venkateswar Reddy that promotions and the transfers of teachers would not be effected until rules were framed. The Court is dealing in a writ petition filed challenging the Government’s ordinance clubbing the services of Government and Panchayat Raj teachers.
