The Chief Minister, YS Rajasekhara Reddy has announced that incubation and other infrastructural facilities will be provided to start up IT companies. He has said the Government is aiming at reducing power tariff for industries by a substantial margin shortly. Inaugurating the TiE-ISB Connect 2005, a forum connecting entrepreneurs with investors and mentors, he declared on Thursday that Andhra Pradesh would be developed into a model State, and appealed to captains of the IT industry to expand into the tier – II cities and towns like Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada and Tirupati. He said the power tariff had already been reduced by four percent from April this year. He said that a 20,000 acre knowledge corridor was being created in Hyderabad with the knowledge sector industry like IT, ITES, R & D, Science and technology, health, finance, insurance and other emerging sectors. In the keynote address, the Chairman of Satyam Computers, B.Ramalinga Raju said that along with the emergence of Knowledge Industry, the companies were looking at new ways towards value creation. He said that 44 per cent of global outsourcing was represented by Indian IT Companies. He said that while market capitalization was around $50,000 per person in the USA, it was one fifth less in India.

CMC Limited has announced that it will take two in demand courses Essential Diploma for Graduate Engineers and Course in Embedded Systems to campuses of Engineering colleges for enhancing the employability of students. The two courses will at once elevate the employability factor of students as they impart them technical skills that are currently in great demand according to a press release. The company announced a decision to this effect at the day long workshop on ‘enhancing the employability of engineering students’ organized in collaboration with JNTU at its Gachibowli campus on Thursday.

The police arrested four persons and busted a fake currency racket on Thursday. The DSP Ammi Reddy, who said that the accused persons secured fake currency in the ratio of 1:2.5 from frequent visitor and exchanged locally.
