The BJP has demanded that all those who approved the file for payment of Rs.11 crores to Vashishta Wahan including the Chief Minister should be covered by the CBI enquiry into the Volkswagen Car Project. At a press conference on Tuesday, the BJP State President, N.Indrasena Reddy and general secretary K.Naresh quoted an official as saying that the Chief Minister would not come under the purview of the proposed enquiry. They reiterated the demand for dismissal of Marketing Minister, B.Satyanarayana from the Cabinet.

A total of 19 students of Annavaram Satyavati Devi Government Women’s College hostel were admitted to the Government General Hospital on Monday night due to suspected food poisoning. This is the second such incident in the hostel within a year. All of them have been treated and declared out of danger. The East Godavari District Collector, Anil Kumar Singhal deputed the Municipal Commissioner and the Municipal Health Officer to inspect the hostel premises and also the hospital and submit a detailed report on the incident.
