The Director General of Police Swaranjit Sen has said that the police are now combing the Nallamala forest and other areas to nab the CPI (Maoist) activists indulging in illegal activities like carrying arms and resorting to violence. He visited the scene of the Claymore mine attack targeting the Prakasam District Superintendent of Police, Mahesh Chandra Ladda on Wednesday. Speaking to press, the DGP said that the police were drawing up plans to make use of available force in a better way.

The Engineering Common Entrance Test (ECET) will be held on 4th August and more than 11000 candidates are appearing for the test according to the convener, K.Lal Kishore. He said on Sunday that hall tickets were dispatched to candidates and details were also available on the website www.jntu.ac.in . Candidates who could not receive the hall tickets August obtain duplicate by payment of Rs.30 along with a pass port size photo to the regional coordinator.

An awareness Programme to educate farmers on the need to fix good quality capacitors to their agricultural pump sets as part of the energy conservation measure has been taken up by the power utilities during the ongoing 'Rythu Chaitanya Yatra'. The Chairperson and Managing director, APTransco while interacting with farmers in Nizamabad and Karimnagar districts said that fixing capacitors to 5 hp pump sets would reduce transformer failures, motor burnouts and result in saving fifteen percent energy.
