Warangal Zilla Parishad Chairman A. Baswa Reddy of the TDP was dismissed on Sunday by the State Government on charges of misuse of powers and funds meant for development activities. The Government issued an order to this effect on Saturday and it was served on him by Zilla Parishad officials. The Government order stated that the decision followed allegations leveled by the ZP Vice Chairman and some ZPTCs. Incidentally, Vice Chairman A. Samma Rao too belongs to TDP. The main charge against him are effecting transfers of 283 ZP employees, mostly teachers that too during the ban period, diverting Rs. 10 lakhs from SGRY funds for office beautification and pressuring of officials to execute his orders in violation of rules. Meanwhile, the TDP leaders condemned the dismissal and termed it as undemocratic.
