Mayor, Deputy Mayor of Kadapa Municipal Corporation and Chairpersons and vice chiefs of four municipalities in the district were elected on Friday but the Chairperson and vice chairman poll in Jammalamadugu was put off to Saturday. P. Ravindranath Reddy, Congress candidate and brother in law of the Chief Minister, YS Rajasekhara Reddy was unanimously elected first Mayor of Kadapa and K. Nabi Rasool also of the Congress as Deputy Mayor. The Mayor and Deputy Mayor will take oath in the midst of people on the ZP premises on October 5.
