HyderabadThe Union Labour Minister and TRS President K. Chandrasekhara Rao on Saturday called on former CPI (Maoist) emissaries Varavararao and G. Kalyan Rao at the Chanchalguda jail where they are detained following a ban imposed on Maoists. He spent with them in the jailor's room for about an hour and he was accompanied by four party MLAs and for Kakatiya University VC, K. Jaishanker. The TRS president was opposed to the ban on Virasam as its members were writers.

It was presented to the department on August 31 in New Delhi. According to an official release, five of the 16 project, which had qualified, bagged awards.

EluruAn adivasi convention held on Saturday under the aegies of the AP Girijana Sangham urged the State Government to stop bauxite mining the agency of Visakhapatnam proposed to be taken up in collaboration with a private company. In the presidential address, the Sangham leader, MS Nagaraju said that the State Government had entered an agreement with a private company some three months ago for exploitation of bauxite in the area and the district administration was busy acquiring lands for the purpose.
