The State Election Commission has ordered district election authorities to have separate seating arrangement for MLAs and MPs who are ex-officio members at the indirect election of Mayor, Deputy Mayor and chairperson and vice chairperson on September 30. The Commission has issued a circular on Tuesday directed the officials that only the presiding officer and the observer appointed by the commission would be allowed to sit on the dias. It also directed that separate compartments would be provided for the elected ward and division members of recognized national parties and State political parties.
