The TDP has petitioned Speaker KR Suresh Reddy seeking to move a breach of privilege motion against the District Collector of Warangal for being disrespectful to members of the Assembly on November 7. At a press conference on Wednesday, party president N.Chandra Babu Naidu alleged that the Chief Minister had pressured the Collector to file a case against the leaders.
The Chief Minister is directly involved as also the DGP. Otherwise, they would our leaders be hounded and arrested in the Afternoon? they asked and said it was an insult that an IAS officer and District Collector failed to recognize members of the Assembly. In this connection, he recalled that a half a dozen instances in which elected representatives belonging to the Congress had actually assaulted officials on duty but got away scot free.
