Damaged Railway track restored – Train to begin operating from Monday

The SC Railway will commence passenger and express train services on Valigonda and Ramnnapet stations of the Guntur division on Monday consequent upon completion of restoration works on a war footing. The track was washed away due to flash floods caused by breach to an irrigation tank nearby. It may be recalled that the accident of Delta Fast Passenger that had taken place on October 29 resulting in the death of 114 persons.

The Railway authorities on Sunday successfully conducted a dry run on the restored track on Bolenepally culvert. The Guntur division of SC Railway will restore 12 passenger and express trains on the Guntur Bibinagar section from Monday following the restoration of the railway line that got washed away at Velugonda in Nalgonda district on October 29.
