Head constable P.Krishna and constable S.Ramana who were working at Annavaram in the agency area were returning in the bus after visiting the Chintapalle police station. They were in plain clothes and did not carry any weapons. After the bus crossed the Lothugedda bridge, two persons who were traveling in the same bus came out of their seats and shot them at point blank range.
