Sixty one school children of Secunderabad had a miraculous escape while the driver of the bus died on the spot in an accident between Nagarjunasagar dam and Ethipothala waterfalls on Monday.
The Tourist bus carrying 61 students of 10th standard of Seventh Day Adventist High School went off the road at Ekonampeta village while it was on its way from the dam. In the accident, the driver died on the spot suspected to be under the influence of liquor while three teachers and five students were undergoing treatment at Macherla Government Hospital while ten students sustained minor injuries.
In another incident in Kadapa, four persons were killed and nine others sustained severe injuries when a jeep collided with an APSRTC bus near Rachamvaripalle cross roads on Monday. The injured were rushed to the hospital for immediate medical treatment.
