The irrigation, police, revenue and railway officials have deposed before Commissioner of Railway Safety RP Agarwal in connection with the Delta Fast Passenger tragedy in which 114 passengers met with a watery grave on Saturday morning. The Two-day statutory enquiry began at the Officers’ rest house near the railway station on Wednesday. Media persons however were not allowed near the venue.
Mr.Bondaiah, gagman who has been missing since the day of the mishap appeared before the Commissioner and reportedly told him that he was washed away in the flood waters and hospitalized. It is learnt that Mr.Agarwal recorded versons of railway authorities before questioning the police, revenue and irrigation officials. The Golnepally sarpanch explained to the commission the circumstances that led the breach of the tank while the police officials made it clear that the villagers had nothing to do with the breach of the tank.
