The United States and India are working at setting up a corporate fund to flight HIV/AIDS according to David T.Hopper, US Counsel General. He was addressing a delegates at the fifth conference on ‘Accelerating business response to HIV/AIDS’ organized under the aegis of Project Access to Care and Treatment by the State chapter of the Confederation of Indian Industry on Friday.
He recalled the announcement by US President George Bush of $7 million as new funding to scale up prevention efforts, including emphasis on workplace programmes. He said the US is working with the National AIDS Control Society and private sector representatives. He said that Hyderabad is a preferred location for them to have an office for visa seekers, the decision has to be taken at Washington.
