Hyderabad, May 27, 2005

The Volkswagen car project appeared to be a certainty in the State after the Government officials led by the Major Industries Minister, B.Satyanarayana held day long parleys with a ten member German delegation of the company on Friday as a follow up of its visit to Aganampudi in Visakhapatnam.

The team led by Helmuth Schuster, CEO of Skoda India and head of the Volkswagen project in India met the Chief Minister, Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy earlier. He said an understanding had already been reached between the State Government and the company following a visit by a State tem to the companys headquarters in Germany recently. The members have promised the State of a positive decision in favour of Andhra Pradesh after introducing the subject formally at the boards meeting in Germany on June 20.
